Little Colorado River

The Little Colorado River is very rich in lime due to to the sedimentary rock layers it runs through. In addition to the lime scattering light in these streams, the calcium carbonate in the lime coats the bottom of these waters with a white bottom. The result is the beautiful turquoise color of the river. That colors contrasts beautifully with the reflected morning light.
