Buckwheat Sunset, Goat Rock Beach

Goat Rock Beach lies just south of the Russian River on the Sonoma Coast of Northern California. the jagged coastline can often provide a great backdrop for sunset photos. This time of the year, the sun is a bit further out to sea, but the light was still beautiful from a bluff high above the beach. The very bright sky, and the relatively dark foliage, required the use of HDR – which in this case, I think, works well without appearing unnatural.
